Bich Ha Pham, Executive Director

Bich Ha works on public policy, legislative advocacy and community organizing. She currently chairs the Federal Issues Committee for the Welfare Reform Network that works on TANF reauthorization policy advocacy and was invited to testify by the House of Representatives Human Resources Subcommittee on the reauthorization. Recently, Bich Ha shared her family’s experience on welfare after coming to the U.S. as refugees from the Vietnam War for the Welfare Made A Difference National Campaign.

Bich Ha grew up in Vietnam and eastern Washington State. After earning her J.D. from New York University School of Law, Bich Ha started at Hunger Action as the Downstate Policy Coordinator; she was very excited when she saw the ad for that job because of the community-level work and strategic advocacy opportunities. She now lives in Harlem in New York City, and she’s crazy about playing tennis and her puppy, Cammie, who sometimes visits the HANNYS office.
